We are currently in Picayune, Mississippi!
We celebrated my 2nd child’s 7th birthday at the end of July! She chose a pineapple orange cake with Rio as the theme.
To help her celebrate we went on some swamp tours. The first one was Cajun Encounters, the Second was Jean Lefitte.
Rio style Singing happy birthday Flavor was pineapple orange with butter cream frosting
The swamp tours I liked the most was Cajun Encounters. The tour guide was enthusiastic and friendly. He drew my kids in and made them feel comfortable enough to ask questions! Stopped for a bit in certain areas and explained the history of the shipyard and what the shipyard is for. I loved that he knew some facts about the wild life and was able to explain the draw bridge and the shipyard.
Old drawings bridge that gets used every six months now Raccoon taking a risk and standing by the water the alligators are in Did you know alligators only see in black and white The spikes on the back are pretty cool Huge ass spider on the tree These raccoons are fight in the tree branches
Jean Lafitte was ok but I feel he should have been able to talk about the history of the pirate and that he helped Andrew Jackson fight in the war of 1812 (he did not even bring it up.) The good thing about this tour is that we saw turtles and we were able to hold an alligator.
