Horse Hugs

I asked if I could take a picture! The horse said yes and gave me hug

Going on a solitude walk, the cow pastures are empty except for a single horse. Usually this horse is in the distance and slowly approaches but never gets close. Last night was different there were no kids.

The funny thing though is on my way to the river I did not see him, I must have been too distracted with my phone reading about vitamin E 😅. On the way back though he was so close to the fence eating I decided to take a chance and approach.

This time he did not run away or leave the area at all oh no he stayed and let me pet him. The best thing was he gave me a hug several in fact. I stood with him and pet him for several minutes in a state of bliss; it has taken me so long to get him to come say hi.

I have no idea why, but I always thought it was because I was too impatient for him, now I think it is because of a combo of inpatients with a little bit of stress and kids.

This brings me to Temple Grandin and how she said the animals are sensitive to sudden movements and noise(I watch her YouTube videos to help me understand my son). With that in the forefront of my mind I approached him slowly with no sudden moves and he stayed to allow me to pet him. Let me tell you it has been a journey to get close to touch but to get a hug was such a surprise. Before I left him I asked if it was ok to get a picture he got closer and allowed me to do so.

I know so wordy about a hug from a horse, but wow what an experience. It was extremely exhilarating.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you all enjoy your day.
