Coffee

Who likes iced coffee? I for one am not a fan! Today however it is an iced coffee day. On Monday my oldest washed the dishes and cleaned the counters while his sisters and I tackled cleaning the bedroom. Boy was their room a mess!

Onto the coffee! My middle was throwing away some paper and all of a sudden I hear a crash. Low and behold my French press fell to the ground and shattered. No more hot coffee for this lady until we can get to Target.

What impressed me and made me do the happy dance was that my son stepped up and admitted that he left the press on the cooler. Most of the time it is denial and blaming others. However on Monday when it happened and I asked why the press was where it was he looked me right in the eyes and said “I forgot to put it back on the counter”!

This has been a long time coming. Usually I get a lot of unnecessary dialog and reasons but that day I got “I forgot to put it back”.

For my son this is a mile stone. I looked at him and said “thank you for admitting to making the mistake. It was an accident that was made. I am glad that you were very concise and did not go into a lot of explaining. You stuck to the basics”.

Alas I am drinking cold coffee today and tomorrow then headed to Target to do some shopping for a new press. By the way cold coffee does not have the same pick me up as hot coffee.

The coffee being consumed for the next couple days. Not to bad. I think I might try heating it up.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post.
