On our way to Tombstone, Arizona

Today is Monday, January 30, 2023, and is our last day of staying in Yuma. It has been a long day of cleaning packing and seeing our new friends one more time before we leave tomorrow.

For two months we have been staying at the Windhaven RV park. Our first week here was for the birds. We leave our tank valves closed until they are full. Well, unbeknownst to me I emptied the black tank into clogged pipes. Not to mention our septic hose that attaches to the pipes in the ground was attached to a pipe that had holes in it. Yup, I had a shit show that first week. Yes, you read that right I was not happy. So I went to the office and let them know what happened and that was when they let me know that they had plumbing issues. No they did not say anything the day we moved in.

It took about another week before I could drain my tanks and not worry about them flooding into the sinks and toilets in the camper (I have no idea if it could happen but I did not want to see it happen). Once everything was cleared I had to move my full septic hose to another ground pipe to drain it. I had no clue that the freshwater pipe next to it was not glued together the way it should have been and I knocked it out of the ground by bumping into it. You can imagine what happened after that straight out of Tom and Jerry water squirted up out of the ground right into my face. I’m screaming my head off yelling to Lucas to go get help from the office to shut the water off. It was getting muddy and looked like it was going to clog the water pipe up. Finally, after 20 minutes (well it seemed like it at the time) it was more like five minutes later the water is off the pipe is fixed I can finally drain my tanks. Nope, I could not drain them. The pipes were still clogged at my site.

So I call the office and let the manager know that I still can not drain my tanks. She said she would let the maintenance guy know. A couple of hours go by my patience is thin and I’m outside slowly trying to get the hose to drain and the maintenance guy drives by without stopping. Stopping what I was in the middle of I walked off in the general direction I saw him go and I ask him to come to check out the septic pipe that is in the ground for the waste to be emptied. Finally, in about an hour, the ground pipe is clear and everything started flowing properly. This at the time was not funny but I can now see the humor in it.

Over the past two months, I’ve had to make calls for multiple reasons one of all things was that they never had any toilet paper in the bathrooms and hand soap to wash your hands. They finally started locking the bathroom doors by 8 pm and unlocking them by 8 am. The only problem with this is that every time my husband would go take a shower at 7:30 pm the doors would already be locked. I had to finally call the office and see if the hours for the bathrooms to be unlocked had changed. Lo and behold the maintenance people were locking them early.

I have never been a complainer but I felt like I have been nothing but complaining. If you stay at this campground take what I said with a grain of salt because it wasn’t all bad. The place has been going through new management and she had to take care of multiple things all at the same time. She is doing the best she can with the help she has. This sums up my stay at the Windhaven RV resort.

This time I have no pictures just verbiage. I hope you all have had a good day and your evening/morning is going well. Thank you for taking the time to read and we are now in Tombstone, Arizona.
