Last Goodbye

Describe the last difficult “goodbye” you said.

I haven’t said too many goodbyes in my lifetime. If I were, to be honest, my grandfather is the only person I truly said goodbye to (but not in those words). He had a long life and at his end, he fought to stay. It was his time though and by the time I arrived at the nursing home, it looked as if he was hanging on.

When I walked into the room everyone was talking in hushed tones and in little groups. No one was sitting next to him it may be they just got up to walk around to get the stiffness out of their joints. Walking straight to his bed I sat next to him and took his hand in mine and said “I love you. We will be ok. We are all here and love you it is ok to go.” Even then I never said goodbye but that I love you.

Where to begin! I am first a mom of three; one boy and two girls. We travel around the US with my husband and homeschool on the road! last year I learned to make homemade soap and sell it for a small income.
