Three weeks ago I made some sour kraut for the first time! What I learned is even the the jar is full cram more in there! I pack it in way to loosely.
So yesterday I put them all into one jar this way I did not need to reach all the way in to push all the air out of the kraut. By pushing the air out the ingredients will stay submerged in their own liquid and will not grow a yeast (at the moment I can’t remember the name of the yeast) over the top making have to scrape it off the top and throw it in the trash!.

Yesterday I had all three of my kids make their own breakfast! I had out purple cabbage eggs and cheese. I left Lucas on his own to make his so no pictures!
Charlotte I helped her chop up the cabbage and put it in the pan (this was so most of it did not end up on the floor). She did all the rest on her own. After her last episode with salt I was thinking that she would remember not to put to much on (when I realized that she forgot all about that experience it was to late. Way to much salt) I did remind just not soon enough. She refused to eat her own breakfast!

Kaarina on the other hand the only thing she needed help with was turning the burner on. She chopped and scrambled the cabbage and eggs on her own. On the other hand I should have watched a little more closely because she put three slices of swiss cheese on her eggs to melt. She did not end up put any salt or pepper on her breakfast. On the other hand she did put a glob of ketchup on her eggs to cook with so there is that.

The last picture is of an oil infusion made with avocado oil, dried calendula flowers, and dried lavender. I am hoping the infusion will be ready to use by the middle of January. I am going to learn how to make some lotion with it!

Thank you all for stopping by to read my blog! I hope you have a wonderful day. We finally have rain here in the Mojave Desert.
Your kids are more resourceful than I was at their age.😊
