It has been four weeks of consistently exercising every day. Days of self doubt that the exercise regimen you haven chosen is working. A few times the towel was going to be thrown in and the exercising for a stronger fitter body was going to be put on the back burner.
When in the younger years of life you strive to be slim. Now you realize that it is important to have a healthy cardiovascular system, strong muscles, and flexibility. The strong muscles to help you do the daily tasks that are so necessary to do, and having the flexibility to get up off the floor without help and pain in the knees.
As a person ages joints lose cartiladge or muscle atrophies and it becomes hard to do daily tasks, such as twist and turn your body the way it is meant, or bending the knees and elbows without pain.
It has taken four weeks of continuous exercise and mental fights that there are changes to the body being made. It may not be visible to you in the way the body looks or fits in pants that fit you three months ago, but in small things like doing six pushups with your knees on the ground, doing more than five bicep curls, and when you work your tricep you can make it to twelve before failure. You are striving to be fit not thin.
Being fit means building strength not be skinny fat. It has been rough the last four weeks trying on pants that fit you two months ago only to have them be too tight around the hips and thighs, remember you are stronger. All the reading on when results are to be seen other than from yourself is three to six months. You keep reading those articles to encourage yourself to keep going keep pushing even if the results are not physically visible, they will be in three to six months. Just keep going and it well all be for the better.
Your cardiovascular system won’t speed up on you all of a sudden, you won’t feel anxious so much anymore, and not to mention when most people at the age of seventy are having a hard time taking a shower you will be zipping through that shower without help. Strive to take care of your body now so you can do normal daily tasks when in your 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Strive to love and tend to you before tending to others. This way as you love yourself loving your close friends and family will be easier.
Don’t ever lose yourself trying to make others happy! In order to make people surrounding happy you must first put you ahead and be happy. So take care of you first. Then take care of those around you.
The struggle of continuing is prominent but the end results are beneficial not only to you but those you love.
I hope everyone has a wonderful. Thank you for taking the time reading this post.
