A Bale of Turtles

We went for a stroll this morning and found a bunch of turtles sunning themselves. Of course, being the age my kids are we scared them back into the water. Luckily there was a small bench halfway around the pond we were strolling.

We were across the pond when we spotted these two

Coming upon the bench I had the kids sit down as quietly as can be and told them to sit as still as possible. Eventually, the bale of turtles deemed it quite enough to come back out of the water.

Coming around to the other side of the pond this turtle had its hiny sticking out.

This bunch would not allow us to get close enough to them to observe their shape, size, color, or patterns on the shells but I am glad we were able to sit still and quiet enough for them to sun themselves again.

Eventually, three came out of hiding to soak up some sun.

As time progressed and we sat there possibly for ten minutes some campground workers came in their golf carts and scared them away. The girls and I were disappointed because we were hoping that the turtles would come closer. According to my son, who was able to get close enough to them to see the colors on their toes they are painted turtles.

All of a sudden there were seven more to make ten.

Thank you everyone for stopping by to read/look at the pictures I hope you enjoyed them as much as we did. I hope you have a great day.
