Unguided Home Economics

Yesterday was another Costco day. I know it was only two weeks since the last time. The funny thing is we are hopefully going tenting this weekend. Supplies are needed.

When we arrived home though I had just sat down to eat my lunch. The kids had some pre-made wraps from Costco. Anyways just as I sat down to eat grandma called (I call her big mama)! While I was on the phone with Big mama the girls decided to get creative and made some savory waffles for dads lunch!

Kaarina made hers with chuncks of radishes, apples, chives, eggs, and coconut flour. Below is a couple pictures of her project. I call this self lead home economics sometimes I just need to go with the flow. My girls definitely know how to take control

This batchh chuncks of apple and radishes

Don’t worry she picked up the mess!

Charlies on the other hand made hers with chives, parmesan, chia seeds, radishes, salt, sour cream, eggs and coconut flour.

This one is shredded radishes.

The camper was a mess, but with a quick clean up of groceries while the kids talked to big mama we were able to get mission accomplished. I somehow ended up being the cook. Next on the agenda is completing what you started all the way till everything is cleaned.

Mini waffle maker.

Below is the end results of their home economics project.

The end result.

Upon tasting charlies waffle it was surprisingly delicious abit salty do to the salt added with parmesan cheese but I think it is a good waffle for a breakfast sandwich.

Kaarina would allow me to try hers. So there is no thoughts on hers. They were all for dad.

I have no idea on how much of each ingredient is in the batches, but I am sure that if you want to give a try it would be easy to guesstimate on it. If you try making let us know what you think.

Where to begin! I am first a mom of three; one boy and two girls. We travel around the US with my husband and homeschool on the road! last year I learned to make homemade soap and sell it for a small income.

  1. Yum….I like the savory aspect! training those girls in the right direction.
Do you like that waffle iron?? Looks simple enough for my hubby to make some healthy waffles. Doubt he’d add radishes. He’s been asking about waffles.
