Homeschool Couch to 5k/10 week 3 day 2

Man time has gotten by me! Yesterday we did our five K ten K training and Charlie had a bit of a hard time regulating her breathing with how fast she was going. We all slowed down for her and she felt way better and sounded better as well (we let her set the pace because she is the littlest and we want her to be able to keep up). She just thought she was ready for a faster pace come to find out she was not.

Our results!

When we got back to the camper Lucas and I did yin yoga Super spine by Travis Elliot, while the girls did cosmic kids, the floor is lava, and some Karate. Below Charlie is sitting on Kaarina’s back practicing Karate strength.

My girls practicing Karate, after our run!

While we watched a YouTube video on Japan Kaarina and Charlie both took turns shaking a jar full of heavy whipping cream. They both did two and a half minutes worth of shaking the jar. They both wanted to make butter.

Learning how to make butter with heavy whipping cream!

They both got pretty tired before the two and a half minutes was up. Kaarina kept stopping because her arms are not used to doing that kind of activity and if I remember correctly Charlie stopped shaking the jar after a minute and a half.

Now it is little sisters turn to shake, shake, shake! They both shook the jar for 2 and half minutes.

They noticed that the cream was starting to turn yellow and not stick to the side of the glass as much.

The beginning of the butter forming!

When it finally turned into butter they both tasted it. Charlie gave a thumbs up and said “best tasting butter ever”! Kaarina on the other hand was like what no way am I tasting that (body language lol). I said “you made it now you taste it. This way you know what it taste like and you can decide what you want to put in it”.

The end results! We added some honey and sea salt to taste!

Well she tasted said “it wasn’t bad”. I gave her choices to put into the butter she chose honey and sea salt. I had her and Charlie taste it again and they both gave a thumbs up and an “Hmmmm”.

Below is a picture of my first attempt ever making Sour Kruat. I cannot wait to try it in three weeks.

Sour kruat is way more fun to make than I anticipated! I mean you can beat on it until is is a soggy mess.

Beating on the ingredients until they produced water and were limp is a great way to get some stress relief. It is so rhythmic and repetitive. The bonus is you get the health benefits from it in less then a month.

I did purple and green cabbage with garlic and dried rosemary as well as a tablespoon of pink Himalayan sea salt! Now we wait three weeks to give a try.

Well this month is flying by pretty quickly. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful to be able to stay home with my children and teach them and learn with them.

I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating either with your extended family or with just your family. Thank you reading!
