Yesterday my girls were not wanting to train! I asked “why” and they said that ‘it was getting to hard’! I said “ok, let’s start over again”! So here we are doing week one day 1 again. My goal is for them to enjoy it not hate it.
This time doing week one day one though the girls kept getting distracted! They kept stopping and looking at the plants and saying they saw some type of animal. This exercising with kids is for the birds. That is ok though because I need them to keep me in line I tend to push myself too much and end up not being able to breath properly.
Poor Charlie is so little and is just having a hard time at a faster pace, so now I run with my knees coming up to my waist kind of like knee highs while you are staying in place but I am moving.
Lucas is so tall and long legged he is having a hard time sticking with the group. The way he has to run with us makes him look like an ungainly gazelle who has no co-ordination. Although his body does seem to be loosening up some from the exercises we are doing so there is that! Yesterday he was able to keep his leg straight out while he grabbed his shin to stretche his hamstrings. I am going to do more yoga with him to see if within the next couple months he’ll be able to get to his toes.
Kaarina is my little sprinter! She is going to be fast! But what we are doing she will have to learn to pace herself a little, especially since the goal is to train for a 5k. She would run ahead and walk back. When she realized her sister was having a hard time keeping up with her though she stopped running ahead and ran with us.
To end the run I did Travis Elliot’s yin yoga splits. This helped stretch my hips down to my toes. It also helped my lower back a little as well.
We still at this moment are not going to compete, but it is looking more and more obtainable for me. Maybe in the year 2023 or heck even 2022. I have always wanted to do one of those fun runs anyways.
For those of you who like the pictures or even the screen shots of out training results, I am sorry I did not take them. Life got a little busy after the run. I also learned yesterday that none of the kids want to run midmorning anymore they want to try to do it earlier. Wish me luck on getting them to eat breakfast at 7am rather then 8-30am!
Today is HIIT day! I will report on it when completed! Thank you everyone for stopping by and reading. I hope you all have a wonderful day and accomplish your goals for the day!
